Wendy was still not feeling that flash, but she had a good night’s sleep. After having breakfast Greg went for a ride whilst Wendy stayed in the room and rested. Being awake but not very alert is not good on a bike. Instead she read her book (on the iPhone) and researched hotels for later on in the tour. Greg said it was nice to get out and just ride with nowhere in particular to go and without the panniers on board. You suddenly feel as though you are stronger and fitter, but it's just the lack of weight. He had a nice ride around the district where there were plenty of people out and about on bikes, walking, rollerblading or mucking about in all sorts of boats.
Greg returned at 11am and by midday we were out on the bikes trying to find a nice lunch spot by the lake. After about 5km we found a spot where people were swimming and having a good time. We sat and ate our rolls with Nutella and fruit. There was no way either of us were getting even our big toes in that freezing (our standard) water but the locals didn't seem to mind. We rode over to the island/city, secured the bikes and had a wander. I had an ice-cream and Greg had fish and chips! We were back at the hostel by about 3pm and had a little rest.
We didn't head out again until just after 6pm when we walked back to the island for dinner. Greg had seen a Chinese restaurant in our travels that he thought he might like to eat at. So that's where we had dinner; Greg had a duck and chicken dish and Wendy had fried rice with chicken and it was goooood. We took a little walk around to settle the dinner and then it started to drizzle ever so slightly so we headed home.
Before going to sleep, we did some preliminary packing and map navigation of how to find the hotel in Constance tomorrow.
